About Us
Framland Deanery is an area to the north east of Leicester diocese and contains some 63 Anglican churches, 60 of which are in regular use. We are linked together, not only geographically, but also in our desire to work in partnership with each other and with our ecumenical colleagues. We have therefore formed the Framland Mission Partnership. You can find on this website up to date information about individual churches and their mission activities. How is the Gospel being proclaimed afresh in Framland? What events are happening? Can we learn from one another? What are the challenges of mission in a rural context?
As well as discovering what is currently going on, we are hoping that you will contribute your own ideas and experiences so that good practice can be shared among all the churches. For we believe that God's message is not meant to be kept as a closely guarded secret - it's something to be celebrated and shared!
There is no "one size fits all" formula to mission: each church is different and will react differently to the local situation, so expect to find a variety of tools for mission to reflect on and see whether they can be adapted to your own context. All sorts of things can change the face of mission and make new things possible: who knows what God is going to be up to in your area? But let's not make the mistake of thinking that up till now God hasn't been doing anything: each of us is probably the result of some former mission activity or other. What we are doing in this Mission Partnership is simply continuing the journey together, helping each other to pour the living water onto God's seeds and looking out for those new shoots of growth in Christian discipleship. If this website helps to make that happen, it will have done its job.
